YANG   YIFAN

Yang Yifan was born in Anhui in 1999 and currently resides and works in Hangzhou, Shanghai. In 2023, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department at the China Academy of Art with a Master’s degree; in 2020, he graduated from the Oil Painting Department at the China Academy of Art with a bachelor’s degree. In 2023, he received Lin Fengmian’s Silver Award for Creation, by China Academy of Art.

Yang’s art works explore concepts such as the current lifestyle of movement, class identity, and the presence and absence of physical desire, and construct an illusory picture space by placing the characters in an unrealistic landscaped nature, thereby hinting at the symbolic moments in which modern people construct their identity and release their emotional desires in the changing landscape of wilderness and civilization.
