PETER   ROTHMEIER   RAVN

Peter Rothmeier Ravn was born in 1955 in Denmark; he now lives and works in Copenhagen. Ravn’s primary practice is figurative oil painting, and he is recognised for his concise choice of motifs, where the male character is often placed in situations, undertaking a problematic search for his place in modernity. Other fields of work include sculpture, photography and large-scale installation. Peter Ravn holds a MFA from The Royal Danish Academy (KADK) – Schools for Architecture & Design. Prior his debut as a painter in 2004, he worked professionally in the field of graphic design, creating iconic record sleeves, music videos and fashion design. He has exhibited extensively in national and international institutions and galleries and his work is included in numerous collections around the world.
